Local Entrepreneur Thwarted by DSL

Grass Valley, CA — Nevada County Home Business “Shake It Well” came to a screeching halt on Sunday night when Bob and Danni Schlozmeyer’s DSL went down for the 3rd time that day and the 19th time this week.

“This happens a lot,” said a frustrated Danni Schlozmeyer, “usually at the time we need it the most. I go over to the modem, and the lights are blinking red. It’s so frustrating.”

The Schlozmeyer’s online business is called Shake It Well and they run an online e-business store called ShakeItWell.com. They sell a variety of liquid diet products in the Multi-Level-Marketing vertical to their family and friends. Well, former friends.

“Business is booming,” said Mr. Schlozmeyer, “except when the DSL is down. The BerryWell shake is our most popular item, followed by the ProteinPounder. But none of this works without the P45-LA workout program. It’s a package deal.”

According to Wide Area Networking professionals, Digital Subscriber Lines or DSL was never meant to be a long-term broadband solution, but many parts of the United States do not have the networking infrastructure to support newer and more robust Internet technologies.

“We live just outside town. So we can’t get cable. This DSL is very flaky and goes down at peak times. Does AT&T know how to prevent this?” Questioned an angry Ms. Schlozmeyer.

AT&T did not return The Fazzler’s calls for comment, probably because The Fazzler’s IP phone system is running over a crappy DSL line.
